TOV 25-151 Speaking Life Into Your Wife

TODAY’S FOCUS IS: Using Your Words to Build, Not Break
1
4

You’ve got more influence than you think—especially with your words. As husbands, our words carry weight. They can create safety or insecurity, courage or confusion, joy or fear. And sometimes, we forget just how much power our tone, timing, and truth really hold.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” — Proverbs 18:21 (ESV)

I’ve learned that my wife doesn’t just need provision or protection—she needs my voice to echo what God says about her. She needs to hear, “You’re beautiful.” “I’m proud of you.” “I see your strength.” “I’m with you in this.”

And not just once. Over and over.

Because the world tears her down all week long. Social media, pressure, lies from the enemy—those voices are loud. So when she hears my voice, I want it to be one that heals, not one that hurts.

It’s not just about compliments. It’s about encouragement. It’s about calling out her God-given identity. Reminding her who she is in Christ when she forgets. Speaking faith when she’s filled with doubt. Speaking peace when her heart is anxious.

We all slip up. We say the wrong thing. We react out of stress. But man, when we step up and start using our words to build her—something shifts.

Don’t assume she knows how you feel. Say it. Write it. Pray it out loud. Speak life into her soul.

Question of the Day:
Have your words lately been building her confidence—or quietly eroding her spirit?

Mini Call to Action:
Tell her something life-giving today. Not a throwaway compliment—something from your heart. Let her know she’s seen, loved, and cherished.

Prayer:
Lord, forgive me for the careless words I’ve spoken, and teach me to speak life over my wife. Let my voice be one of truth, love, strength, and grace. Help me be a man who builds with every word I release. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let’s Get to Work.
Words are tools or weapons—choose wisely. Your voice has power. Use it to bless, to lift, to lead. Speak life.
