We don’t fall into sexual sin by accident. It starts with what we allow ourselves to see, dwell on, and tolerate. If your eyes are the gateway to your soul, then guarding your eyes isn’t just a good idea—it’s war strategy. What you feed your eyes will eventually feed your thoughts, your desires, and your decisions.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
“I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?” — Job 31:1 (ESV)
Job didn’t just avoid looking at sin—he made a covenant with his eyes. A binding, sacred promise. Why? Because he knew that unchecked gazes lead to unchecked hearts.
Men, the enemy doesn’t need you to watch porn to defeat you. He just needs you to look twice.
At the ad.
At the jogger.
At that social media post.
He’s playing the long game—training your eyes to hunger for what God never gave you.
It’s not just about porn. It’s about the compromise before the porn.
It’s about the drift.
The glance.
The slow erosion of conviction.
Guarding your eyes means:
Being intentional with what you watch and scroll.
Choosing not to objectify the women around you.
Asking God to purify your desires, not just your behavior.
But it also means guarding your heart—because what starts in the eyes takes root there. And once it’s rooted, it becomes a battle of worship. Will you worship your impulses—or the God who redeemed you?
Question of the Day:
What have you been letting in through your eyes that’s starting to take hold in your heart?
Mini Call to Action:
Take one step today to guard your vision. Unfollow an account, delete an app, or set a screen boundary. Do it before temptation sets the trap.
Prayer:
Father, help me honor You with what I see. Give me strength to turn my eyes from worthless things and fix my gaze on what’s holy. Purify my heart and guard my mind. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s Get to Work.
You’re a warrior, not a passive observer. Lift your eyes—and let them reflect the King you serve.
