If you want to know what real manhood looks like, look no further than Jesus. He didn’t come to earth to flex His strength—He came to reveal what true strength really is. And it looked like serving, healing, protecting, standing firm in truth, and laying down His life for others.
Jesus wasn’t passive. He wasn’t aggressive. He was purposeful. He knew who He was, and He walked in that identity with boldness and humility. The world may not celebrate this kind of man—but heaven does.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus… who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself… becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” — Philippians 2:5-8 (ESV)
Jesus laid aside His position, not His power. He used His strength to lift others, not to control them. That’s our model.
Men today are bombarded with false images of success: power, wealth, dominance. But Christ modeled sacrificial leadership, inner strength, and unwavering truth. When others ran from the cross, Jesus walked toward it. That’s manhood.
A man in the image of Christ speaks life, leads with love, walks in obedience, and stands strong even when it hurts. This isn’t soft. This is the fiercest kind of strength—one that lives for something greater than self.
Question of the Day:
What area of your life needs to be re-aligned with the image of Christ—not the image of the world?
Let’s Pray:
Lord, make me a man after Your own heart. Help me strip away every false idea of masculinity and put on the mind and character of Christ. Teach me to lead like Jesus—with love, courage, and obedience. In His name, Amen.
Let’s Get To Work!
You were never called to copy culture—you were called to imitate Christ. That kind of manhood changes homes, churches, and nations.
