Somewhere along the journey, every man faces a moment where he realizes—boyhood won’t carry him through this life. Spiritually speaking, it’s not just about age—it’s about attitude, mindset, and responsibility. God isn’t looking for perfect men. He’s looking for grown men—warriors who are done playing games and ready to stand firm.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me." —1 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV)
There’s a difference between growing older and growing up. You can sit in church for decades and still think, speak, and act like a spiritual child. Paul reminds us that becoming a man means putting away childish things—not just toys or immature habits, but immature beliefs, fears, and excuses.
When trials come, do we whine or do we worship? When responsibility knocks, do we hide or do we rise? It’s time to look in the mirror and ask, “Am I acting like a son of God—or a boy avoiding manhood?” Maturity isn’t about being flawless—it’s about being faithful. It’s showing up, owning your walk with Christ, and becoming a pillar others can lean on.
God has more for you—but He’s waiting for you to grow into it. That next level of blessing, influence, and leadership? It’s reserved for those willing to leave boyhood behind.
Question of the Day:
What area of your faith still reflects boyhood instead of manhood?
Let’s Pray:
Lord, show me the areas where I’ve been childish. Give me the courage to grow, to take responsibility, and to live like the man You’ve called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
