TOV 24-030 Unleashing the Warrior Within: Embracing Greatness in the Everyday.

TODAY'S FOCUS IS: Finding Your Path to Greatness in God’s Kingdom
2

Welcome, warriors of the Tribe of Valor Podcast. In our relentless pursuit of greatness, we often find ourselves waiting for the 'right moment' – the perfect conditions to start making a real impact. But what if I told you that the path to true greatness doesn't begin with a grand stage or monumental opportunities? Today, we delve into a biblical perspective that challenges our conventional understanding of greatness, urging us to recognize the potential for extraordinary impact in our everyday lives.

Scripture: Our guiding scripture, Matthew 20:25-26 “Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,”

coupled with the story of Shamgar in Judges 3:31 “After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath, who struck down six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad.

He too saved Israel.”, serves as a powerful illustration of this truth. In Matthew, Jesus instructs His followers on the true nature of greatness in God's kingdom, emphasizing service and humility over authority and domination. Shamgar’s story, although brief, is a potent example of seizing the opportunity for greatness right where you are, with what you have.

In this session, we explore how aligning ourselves under God’s rule and authority, and serving others for the kingdom, positions us for true greatness. We'll break down the misconception that greatness is reserved for those with vast resources or platforms. Instead, we will uncover how greatness in God’s kingdom often manifests in the small, seemingly insignificant acts of obedience and service.

Focus Training (2 Minutes): Let’s embark on a two-minute intensive training on realizing greatness in your current context:

  1. Acknowledge Your Current Stage: Reflect on where you are in life. Understand that God has placed you here for a reason and that you can serve Him right where you are.

  2. Embrace Small Acts of Service: Look for opportunities to serve those around you. These acts, no matter how small, are significant in God’s eyes.

  3. Utilize Your Available Resources: Like Shamgar, who used what he had, employ your skills, talents, and resources for God’s purposes, no matter how modest they may seem.

  4. Reject the Waiting Game: Stop waiting for the perfect moment or more resources to start making a difference. Greatness begins with action, no matter the circumstances.

  5. Seek God’s Guidance Daily: Regularly ask God to show you how you can serve Him and embody greatness in your current situation. Be open to His leading.

Conclusion: So, men of valor, let’s shift our perspective on greatness. It’s not about waiting for better conditions or more resources; it’s about seizing the opportunities for impact and service that God has already placed before us.

Call to Action: This week, identify one way you can demonstrate greatness in your current context. It could be a small act of service, a step of obedience, or utilizing a skill for God’s kingdom.

Question of the Day: “In what ways can you start pursuing greatness in your current situation, following the example of Shamgar?”

Let's Pray: Lord, help us to recognize the opportunities for greatness that You’ve placed in our lives. Give us the wisdom and courage to act, using whatever resources we have for Your glory. May we find our path to true greatness in service and obedience to You. Amen.

That's our challenge for today, gentlemen. Remember, greatness in God’s kingdom isn’t about the size of the stage but the depth of the commitment. Start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. Stay faithful, stay committed, and let’s get to work…
