Welcome, Warriors, to another episode of The Tribe of Valor Podcast: Empowering Real Men of God. Let me ask you something—have you ever stood on the edge of a decision, knowing what God is asking of you, but every fiber of your being is screaming, "This doesn't make sense!"? That’s the crossroads where faith and feelings collide.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Faith is not a feeling, brothers. It’s not tied to the ups and downs of emotions or the rollercoaster of circumstances. Faith is a choice—a resolve to trust in God's promises even when your vision is blurred by doubt and your heart is weighed down by fear.
The world will tell you to trust what you see and feel, but God calls you to something greater: to walk by faith and not by sight. Faith isn’t ignoring reality—it’s acknowledging a greater reality. Think of Noah, who built an ark while the skies were clear, or Abraham, who left everything behind to follow a promise. Their feelings didn’t lead them; their faith did.
So how do we lean into faith when feelings threaten to overwhelm us? First, anchor yourself in God’s Word. His promises are unshakable. Second, surround yourself with godly counsel—men who will remind you of who God is when you can’t see Him clearly. Lastly, practice surrender. Faith grows when we let go of control and trust that God’s plan is far better than ours.
Let’s pray. Father, we thank You for the gift of faith. Help us to trust You when our hearts are heavy and our understanding is weak. Teach us to cling to Your promises and walk boldly in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s get to work.
