Lazarus Speaks: A Glimpse Beyond the Grave

Life After Death: A Firsthand Account

Location: Jerusalem
Time: Circa 30 A.D.
Primary Scripture: John 11 — The raising of Lazarus from the dead by Jesus.

Lazarus, the man who was famously raised from the dead by Jesus, sits in the courtyard of his sister Martha’s home in Bethany. The gathered crowd listens in awe, leaning in to hear from the one who has not only seen death but returned to tell of it.

From Lazarus:

My friends, you know my story. You’ve heard of how Jesus called me from the grave, how I walked out of the tomb still wrapped in burial cloths. But tonight, I want to speak not just of what happened, but of what I experienced — of life, of death, and of what lies beyond.

Let me begin by saying this: death is not the end. I know this now, not as a matter of belief, but as one who has walked through its shadow. When I became ill, my sisters sent for Jesus, knowing His power and His love for our family. But He did not come immediately. He delayed, and in those days of waiting, I felt the life leave my body. I died, and my spirit departed.
