A Letter from Eunice, Mother of Timothy
Subtitle: Why Paul’s Letter to Galatia Meant Everything to Me
To my dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
You’ve read Paul’s letter to the churches in Galatia. Perhaps you’ve studied it, quoted it, underlined it. But if you want to truly understand it—if you want to feel the weight behind every word—you need to hear my story. And my story? It’s inseparable from my husband’s, my son’s, and even the story of the Greeks themselves.
My name is Eunice. I’m a Jew, born and raised in the teachings of Moses, the Psalms, and the prophets. I married a Greek—yes, I did. I won’t go into why, but I will tell you what that meant. It meant two worlds, two value systems, two completely different ways of life clashing under one roof.
