Damascus has not fallen, but the corrupt Assad dynasty. Who takes political control may be worse, but time will tell. I think Russia will have an interest here. I am sure Mossad and CIA are up to their necks.

As of December 9, 2024, Damascus, the capital of Syria, has fallen to rebel forces, leading to the collapse of President Bashar al-Assad's regime. Rebel groups, including Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), swiftly captured key cities such as Aleppo, Hama, and Homs before entering Damascus. President Assad fled the capital and is reported to have sought asylum in Moscow.

The term "fallen" in this context refers to the city's capture by opposition forces, resulting in the overthrow of the existing government and the establishment of control by new authorities. This significant event marks the end of over five decades of Assad family rule in Syria.

These developments have led to widespread celebrations among Syrians, as well as concerns about the nation's future stability and governance. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, with various countries reassessing their positions and strategies in response to the rapid changes in Syria's political landscape.
