I would like to hear from others concerning your question about what opposition and how you handled it.

Mine was recently a lady who was asking for a handout and I asked If she knew about Jesus? Her eyes rolled and turned her face. Although that may seem little, at the time it threw me off guard because most homeless asking for a handout will listen in hopes of getting something after. I just paused and told her I’ll be praying for her after asking her name. The following 2weeks she was in my daily prayers.

John, thank you for sharing that moment—it’s a beautiful example of engaging with love and grace even when faced with opposition. Spiritual warfare can manifest in subtle yet impactful ways, as you experienced. Your response of prayer and compassion is powerful and reflects a Christ-centered approach.

It’s also a reminder that not all seeds we sow will sprout immediately. In evangelism, especially during times of spiritual warfare, opposition can feel disheartening, but it’s often a sign of deeper spiritual battles at play.

Here are a couple of questions to reflect on and share with fellow readers:

1. How do you maintain focus on the eternal perspective, even when immediate results aren’t visible?

2. Have you found any specific scriptures or prayers that anchor you when faced with these spiritual battles?

One passage that comes to mind is 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (ESV): 'For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.' It’s a reminder that our interactions are part of a much larger spiritual battle, and prayer is one of our greatest weapons.

Your story encourages us all to continue stepping out in faith, trusting that God is working even when we don’t see it immediately. Thank you for inspiring us to press on in love and truth!
