Uot of army, just married, had just enough bible to get me in trouble. Joined LDS, started attending. Ran into a problem with, THE BIBLE IS TRUE IN AS MUCH AS IT HAS BEEN TRANSLATED CORRECTLY.

When questioned I was told to pray about it. A pastor said to me to be careful of cults with their own books. LDS,JW ect.

My answer is if your god is not big enough to keep his word then don't follow him.

No one can fake raising the dead.

Or walking on water.

Or healing the truly sick.

The one basic gift of the spirit is the gift of helps.

Tongues can be faked.

To late for what? Tongues is a lesser gift. Paul said to seek a greater gift. Don't you read your book??

True. But it divides. You have everybody clucking in tounges with out interpretation and it is chaos?? That is not the HOLY SPIRIT.

How about you spend more time in prayer and less time being everyone's judge?

You are incorrect. There is also private use in prayer: Tongues can also be used in personal prayer, where interpretation is NOT required. This is referred to as "praying in the Spirit" (1 Corinthians 14:4, 14-15). When used this way, the believer is communicating directly with God, and it may not involve a message that needs interpretation for others.

Yet you shout lesser? ANYTIME that I can speak directly with God...it does not get any greater than that...and WHY would someone fake that? To whom does it benefit?

The gifts of the Holy Spirit, also known as spiritual gifts, are various abilities granted to believers by the Holy Spirit to serve the body of Christ. These gifts are mentioned in several passages of the New Testament, particularly in Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 1 Corinthians 12:28-31, and Ephesians 4:11.

Here are the commonly listed gifts, totaling 21 when considering various interpretations and categorizations:

Wisdom
