I have observed through the years a common factor regarding temptation - this factor is an error, a deception that "God isn't present". In daily life, the thought process doesn't acknowledge the presence of God. A lie is believed, which is "...no one will see, no one will know..."

I have found this scripture to be "how to" submit to God, resist the devil, and acknowledge the presence of God:

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Finally, here is this verse - the context is good to study:

Hebrews 2:18 For because he himself (Jesus) has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (ESV)
