Will You Be The Next One Falling Into The Hole?
You were told about the pothole...now what do you do?
Once upon a time in a small village nestled between two mountains, there lived a wise old man named Ezra. He was known throughout the land for his wisdom and kindness, and people often sought his counsel for guidance.
One day, as Ezra walked along the edge of the village, he noticed a deep, treacherous hole in the ground that had formed from recent heavy rains. Fearing for the safety of his fellow villagers, he decided to take it upon himself to warn them of the danger.
Ezra went from house to house, warning each person about the hole and urging them to stay away from the area. He even placed a large sign by the hole, clearly stating the danger it posed. Despite his best efforts, however, the villagers went about their daily lives, ignoring his warnings and the sign.
Some villagers, lost in their thoughts or humming their favorite tunes, walked straight into the hole. They would then crawl out, scratched and bruised, and complain about their misfortune. "Why did no one warn us about this hole?" they would cry, even though Ezra had tried his best to do just that.
One day, a young boy named Aiden approached Ezra with a solution. He suggested they build a bridge over the hole, ensuring that no one would fall in again. Ezra liked the idea and immediately set to work with Aiden and a few other villagers who saw the value in the plan.
They worked tirelessly for days, gathering materials and constructing a sturdy bridge. When it was finally complete, the villagers marveled at the sight of the bridge and thanked Aiden and Ezra for their efforts.
From that day forward, no one fell into the hole again. While Ezra's warnings had gone unheard, his actions with Aiden and the others had made a real difference in the village.
And so, the parable teaches us that sometimes, despite our best efforts to communicate dangers and advice to others, it is our actions and tangible solutions that can make the greatest impact. We must be willing to work together and seek innovative ways to protect our brothers and sisters, even when they don't listen to our words.
