Who Do You Say I Am: Mary Magdalene PART FOUR

Darkness to Dawn: A Testimony of Unwavering Faith
2

My beloved family in Christ,

I write to you as one who has walked from the deepest shadows into the most radiant light, who has seen despair turned to hope, and death turned to life. My name is Mary Magdalene, and though many stories are woven about my past, the truest story I can share is my witness of our Lord Jesus Christ, His death, His resurrection, and His eternal love that has transformed not only my life but the course of history.

Before I met Jesus, my life was a vessel of suffering, filled with seven demons, as the scriptures recount. I was bound by darkness so dense that the sun seemed as if it would never shine for me. But Jesus, in His infinite compassion, saw me—not as a woman lost to darkness but as one who needed the touch of His kind hand. His words, "Daughter, your faith has healed you," echoed not just through my ears but into the very recesses of my soul, and I was freed. From that moment, my life was irrevocably committed to Him.

I followed Him, listened to Him, and supported His ministry. I witnessed His miracles and His teachings, the truth of His words penetrating hearts and changing lives as they had changed mine. But nothing could prepare me for the horror of His crucifixion. The cross was a place of brutal endings, and as I stood there, watching the life ebb from the man who had given me back my life, despair once again threatened to overwhelm me.

Yet, in the dimness of early morning three days later, I found myself drawn to His tomb, a heart heavy with spices to anoint the body of my Lord. Nothing could have prepared me for the sight that met my eyes. The stone was rolled away, the tomb was empty, and confusion and fear gripped me. Had someone taken Him? Where could they have laid Him? Tears blinded me as I turned and saw a man standing nearby, whom I presumed to be the gardener. It was only when He spoke my name, "Mary," that recognition dawned—Jesus was alive!

The simplicity of Him saying my name changed everything. All the teachings, all the miracles, all the parables He had spoken now made perfect sense in the fulfillment of His promise. He was risen, just as He said. He asked me to go and tell the others that He was alive, and as I ran to deliver the message, my feet barely touched the ground. "I have seen the Lord," I proclaimed, and with each word, the truth of it seeped deeper into my bones.

Now, as I write this, I realize that my testimony is not just a recount of past events; it is a living declaration that Jesus is the Messiah, the King of kings. He is not a historical figure confined to the pages of scripture or to the past; He is alive, and He is active in our lives today. He is the hope for the hopeless, the light in the darkness, and the peace in our storms.

To those who feel bound by chains, whether they be of sin, grief, or despair, remember my story. There is no pit so deep that His love is not deeper still. He is able and willing to meet you where you are, to call you by name, and to lead you into His glorious light.

Let us hold fast to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. Let us love one another as He has loved us, serve as He served, and spread the good news of His resurrection, which has given us life eternal. We are called not just to live but to live abundantly, to witness with our lives that Jesus is indeed the Christ, the Son of the living God.

May you find in Him the same overwhelming joy and peace that I found at the empty tomb that glorious morning. May your faith be as a beacon that guides others to His love, and may your journey with Him be marked by an ever-deepening understanding of who He is.

With all the love and joy that only He can give,

Mary Magdalene
