What Christians Read About Christ, God, and Christianity
Garbage In...Garbage Out: Christianity
Understanding Today's Christian Writers…
When you pick up a book about being a Christian, you'll find lots of different ideas. Many writers talk about faith, Jesus, and God. But sometimes, they don't get the whole picture. They write about God in a way that makes them comfortable, and this can make God seem smaller than He really is.
Some of these writers think that God doesn't do miracles anymore or that He doesn't talk to us like He used to. They might think this because they haven't seen a miracle themselves or haven't heard God speak to them. But that's not the whole story about God.

How God Talks to Us Today
The Bible tells us something different. In John 10:27, Jesus says that His followers will hear His voice. This means that Jesus still talks to us. Hebrews 1:1-2 says that God used to talk through prophets but now He talks to us through Jesus. And in Revelation 3:20, it's like Jesus is knocking on our door, waiting for us to let Him in and talk with us.
BTW…God is saying in Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”…according to another author listed below…“God will no longer speak to us”…then the above verse is a lie.
How God Heals Us Today
The Bible also talks about healing. In James 5:14-15, it says that if someone is sick, they can pray and be healed. This shows that God still heals people. Jesus healed many people, as we read in Matthew 9:35, and He still does this today. 1 Peter 2:24 tells us that because of Jesus, we can be healed, both in our bodies and our hearts.
The Strength of Believing
Believing, or faith, is really powerful in Christianity. It's about trusting in what we can't see and believing in God's promises, even when things are tough. Faith is like a bridge that connects us to God. It's not about ignoring what's happening around us; it's about believing in a bigger truth that comes from God.
So, when you read books about being a Christian, remember to think about what they say. Remember that God is bigger than we can understand. Our journey with God isn't about keeping Him in a small box that fits our comfort. It's about stepping out and trusting in His big love and power.
Dear God, help us to understand how big and powerful You are. Let us be open to the amazing things You still do and the ways You talk to us. Help us to walk with You, always remembering You are with us…and we are always listening Amen.
