TOV 25-122 Stepping Up in the Church – Serving with Purpose

TODAY’S FOCUS IS: Embracing your role in the body of Christ

Too many men treat church like a stadium—showing up, sitting back, and watching others carry the load. But the church was never meant to be a place for passive attendance. It’s a battlefield, a workshop, a mission hub—and every man has a place in it. God didn’t just save you from something—He saved you for something.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
"Use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." —1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)

The Apostle Peter reminds us that every believer has a gift—something given by God for the building up of others. And it’s not just spiritual—it’s practical. Maybe you’re great with your hands, a wise mentor, a tech genius, or a man who just shows up early and stays late. Whatever it is, it matters.

Serving in the church doesn’t mean you have to be on stage. It means showing up with purpose. It could be greeting at the door, discipling young men, leading a small group, or fixing the church roof. Whatever your role, when you serve others, you reflect the image of Christ—the ultimate servant.

The world tells men to build their own empires. Jesus tells us to build His Kingdom. If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, it’s time to step in. Church isn’t complete without you.

Question of the Day:
Where is God calling you to step up and serve in your local church?

Let’s Pray:
Lord, open my eyes to see where You’ve gifted me and where You’re calling me to serve. Help me to stop spectating and start building. I want to be a faithful steward of the grace You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
