Let me ask you something—what kind of brother do you wish you had? The kind who shows up when life hits hard? The kind who tells you the truth, even when it stings? The kind who calls you higher, won’t let you settle, and prays for you even when you don’t ask?
Our springboard for today’s discussion is: Philippians 2:4 – "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Too many men go through life waiting for that kind of brotherhood to find them. But here’s the truth—real brotherhood isn’t something you wait for; it’s something you build. You can’t control who reaches out to you, but you can control the kind of man you are to others.
Think about Jonathan and David. Jonathan wasn’t obligated to stand by David’s side, to warn him of danger, or to sacrifice his own position for the sake of God’s plan. But he did. Why? Because he was the kind of brother he himself would want. He put David’s interests before his own, and in doing so, he honored God.
Men, it’s time to stop waiting and start building. Want strong friendships? Be a strong friend. Want accountability? Be accountable. Want someone to challenge you in your faith? Challenge others in theirs. When you invest in others, you create the kind of brotherhood that strengthens not just you but an entire generation of men who refuse to walk this road alone.
Question of the Day: Who is one man in your life that needs you to step up and be the brother you wish you had?
Let’s Pray: Father, make us the kind of men who lead with love, honesty, and accountability. Teach us to invest in others as You have invested in us. Strengthen our hearts to be the brothers we wish we had. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Let’s Get To Work!
