Scripture: Proverbs 18:21 – "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
Warriors, have you ever caught yourself speaking words that tear down instead of build up? Ever said something in frustration and later regretted it? Words are not just sounds—they carry weight, authority, and power. The Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. The enemy knows this, and if he can get you to speak doubt, fear, and negativity over yourself and others, he’s already won half the battle.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that our words have consequences. What we say shapes our reality, influences those around us, and can either invite God’s presence or give the enemy a foothold.
Think about the words you speak daily. Do they reflect faith, or do they reflect fear? The enemy uses our words against us—negative self-talk, gossip, complaining, and doubt all create spiritual strongholds. But here’s the good news: You have the authority to reverse the narrative. You can choose to speak life, declare truth, and align your words with God’s promises. When you speak words of faith, you shift the atmosphere in your home, your relationships, and your own heart.
Do This Now!
Guard Your Words – Pause before you speak. Ask, "Is this building up or tearing down?" (Ephesians 4:29)
Speak God’s Promises – Replace negativity with Scripture. Declare God’s truth over yourself. (Psalm 19:14)
Pray Over Your Speech – Ask God to purify your words so they align with His will. (James 3:9-10)
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank You for the power of words. Forgive us for the times we’ve spoken death instead of life. Help us to speak words that reflect Your truth, encourage others, and strengthen our faith. May our tongues become instruments of blessing, not destruction. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Let’s Get to Work!
