TOV 24-075 Empowered for Purpose: The Divine Source of Our Qualification

TODAY'S FOCUS IS: Understanding How God Equips Us for His Will
3

Welcome to The Tribe Of Valor Podcast. In today's session, we dive into the heartening promise found in Philippians 2:13, a scripture that brings clarity and comfort to all who question their ability to fulfill God's calling. In a culture that often emphasizes self-reliance and personal achievement, this verse redirects our focus to the ultimate source of our strength and qualification: God Himself. It assures us that our capacity to will and to act according to His purposes is not self-generated but divinely bestowed.

Today, We Anchor Ourselves in: Philippians 2:13 - "For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

Philippians 2:13 serves as a powerful reminder that our journey in faith and service is not a solo endeavor but a collaborative process with God at the helm. This verse highlights several key truths about our relationship with God and His plans for us:

  1. Divine Empowerment: The verse reassures us that God is actively working within us, providing both the desire and the ability to do what pleases Him. This divine empowerment signifies that our effectiveness in any endeavor for God stems from His strength, not ours.

  2. Alignment with God’s Will: The fact that God works in us "to will" suggests that He aligns our desires with His own. This transformative process ensures that our motivations become increasingly centered on fulfilling God's purposes rather than pursuing our selfish ambitions.

  3. Fulfillment of God’s Purpose: The ultimate goal of God working in us is the accomplishment of His good purpose. This underscores that each of us has a role to play in God’s grand design, tailored to the unique gifts and calling He has placed within us.

Full 2 Minutes of "Focus Training":

  • First Minute (Meditation): Quietly reflect on the reality of God working within you. Contemplate the significance of being empowered by God to both desire and do His will. Allow the truth of His active presence in your life to fill you with confidence and peace.

  • Second Minute (Prayer): Pray for increased sensitivity to God’s working in your life. Ask for the grace to align your will with His and for the strength to act according to His purposes. Commit your desires, plans, and actions to Him, seeking to fulfill His good purpose in and through your life.

Conclusion:

Understanding that our qualification and empowerment come from God is both humbling and liberating. It relieves us from the pressure of self-sufficiency and invites us into a deeper reliance on God’s infinite power and wisdom. As we embrace this truth, let us move forward with confidence, knowing that it is God who equips us for every good work He calls us to.
