Some conversations come with fire in my bones—and this is one of them. I’ve kept quiet on this topic long enough. But if you’ve ever felt that tug in your spirit when you hear a so-called Christian voice slandering the Jewish people, twisting scripture to suit their bias, or flat-out denying Israel’s place in God’s story—then friend, this one’s for you.
It’s time to deal with something that’s been rotting in the basement of Christian theology for centuries, infecting minds and hearts like black mold: Replacement Theology. And even more dangerous is the modern twist—when that theology gets weaponized to justify hate.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
“I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” — Genesis 12:3 (ESV)
Let’s be clear—God made that promise to Abraham. Not symbolically. Not metaphorically. But literally.
So how in the world did we go from that—to Christians mocking Jews, minimizing the Holocaust, or even denying Israel's right to exist?
THE ROOT OF THE POISON
Replacement Theology, or "Supersessionism," teaches that the Church has completely replaced Israel in God’s redemptive plan. In this view, God has revoked His promises to the Jewish people and transferred them to the Church. To be blunt, it suggests God changed His mind.
Now think about that for a moment. If God can just "cancel" Israel, what's to stop Him from canceling you? What happens to grace if God breaks His eternal covenants?
Spoiler alert: He doesn't.
The Apostle Paul confronts this head-on in Romans 11. “Has God rejected His people? By no means!” (v.1). Paul didn’t leave any wiggle room. He declared, “They are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (vv.28-29).
Yet, many who claim the name of Christ are spewing venom against the Jewish people, waving their theological degrees like swords of legitimacy. They hide their contempt behind phrases like “fulfilled in the Church” or “spiritual Israel,” while denying the living, breathing, bloodline descendants of Abraham their God-given role in history.
This isn’t theology. This is heresy soaked in pride—and yes, in some cases, outright hatred.
THE FRUIT OF THIS DOCTRINE
You can always tell a tree by its fruit. And the fruit of Replacement Theology has been devastating.
Let’s talk history. The Crusades. The Inquisitions. Pogroms. Blood libels. The silence of much of the Western Church during the Holocaust. Nearly every one of those movements was justified—at least in part—by Replacement Theology.
Martin Luther, the great Reformer, started out defending the Jews. But after they didn’t convert to Christianity on his timeline, he wrote horrific things about them, urging Christians to burn synagogues and drive the Jews out of their towns. Hitler later quoted Luther in his Nazi propaganda.
And today? Antisemitism is rising again—in the streets, in the universities, and sadly, even in some pulpits.
Don’t believe me? Scroll through social media. Listen to some “Christian influencers” who mock Jewish customs, who say things like “the modern nation of Israel has nothing to do with biblical prophecy,” or worse—who sympathize with those who murder Jews in the name of religion or politics.
Make no mistake: when you strip the Jewish people of their covenantal identity, you’re not teaching deep theology. You’re laying the groundwork for demonic hatred.
THE REAL STORY—STRAIGHT FROM SCRIPTURE
Let’s go back to the Word of God. Because that’s where every lie dies and truth stands tall.
Paul, again in Romans 11, uses the image of an olive tree. Gentile believers were grafted in—not because Israel was replaced, but because of God’s mercy.
We were invited in—not as a takeover, but as a grafting. And Paul warns us: “Do not be arrogant toward the branches... remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you” (Romans 11:18).
God’s covenant with Israel is everlasting. Period.
And yes, many Jewish people have not recognized Jesus as their Messiah—but Paul tells us that “a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:25-26).
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob doesn't break His word. He doesn't revoke promises. He fulfills them—in His timing, not ours.
So how dare we, as the Church, act as if we’ve earned something that was always meant to be a story of mercy and inclusion, not pride and domination?
THE DANGER OF ARROGANCE
Let me speak plainly. Any theology that causes you to despise the people through whom God brought the Scriptures, the prophets, and even the Messiah Himself—is not of God. That is Satanic theology wearing a Christian mask.
Jesus was not a white European. He was a Jewish rabbi.
The apostles? Jewish.
The writers of Scripture? Jewish.
God’s plan for the end of the age? Centered in Jerusalem.
And yet, some Christians act as though loving Jesus gives them permission to hate the very people He wept over.
This is pride. This is blindness. And yes—this is rebellion.
WHAT REAL MEN OF GOD MUST DO
It’s time to draw a line in the sand. Real men of God do not tolerate any teaching that justifies racial, ethnic, or national hatred—especially against the people God calls His “firstborn son” (Exodus 4:22).
We must repent of Replacement Theology in our churches, in our bookshelves, in our seminaries. We must renounce any doctrine that contradicts Romans 9-11. And we must be unashamed to say this:
God still loves the Jewish people.
God still has a covenant with Israel.
And if you love Jesus, you better learn to love the people He came from.
A WARNING AND A PROMISE
God doesn’t take lightly how the nations treat Israel.
Genesis 12:3 is not an empty phrase. “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you.”
The Church in the West is at a crossroads. Will we bless Israel and walk in covenant alignment with God’s heart? Or will we curse Israel through apathy, arrogance, or false doctrine—and walk right into judgment?
This isn’t about politics. This is about promise. This is about the integrity of God’s Word. This is about standing on the right side of history and eternity.
FINAL CHARGE
To every man reading this—check your theology. Check your heart. Are you aligned with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Or are you unknowingly echoing the lies of centuries past?
Stand up. Speak truth. And love what God loves—because He hasn’t changed His mind.
Not about Israel.
Not about His Word.
Not about His Son.
Let’s be men of honor. Men of truth. Men who reject the cowardice of hatred disguised as theology.
QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Have you unknowingly believed or tolerated Replacement Theology in your faith walk?
LET’S PRAY:
Father, open our eyes to see Your faithfulness through every generation. Forgive us for any arrogance or agreement with doctrines that dishonor Your covenant with Israel. Give us boldness to speak truth, love what You love, and walk humbly in the fear of the Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s Get To Work!
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” AMEN! Thank you for your post! How many "so called" Christians read and study the Bible?
Yes,yes, YES!! Replacement Theology is pure heresy and apostasy, no matter it is falsely rationalized and justified
Paul in Romans 11 is the last word on this.
