The God You See Shapes the Life You Live
How Your View of God Determines Your Destiny
"The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." —Psalm 145:8
Brother, let me ask you this:
What is the image of God that guides your life?
Because the truth is, the trajectory of your entire life hinges on that one thing. If you see God as distant, irrelevant, critical, or unengaging, it’s going to affect everything—your relationships, your purpose, your sense of peace. Sadly, so many people live with this false view of God, and it’s a tragedy that impacts every corner of their lives.
Living with a distorted view of God leads to fear, shame, and a sense of striving to earn love or approval. But the good news is, that’s not who God is. Scripture tells us that God is gracious, merciful, and overflowing with love (Psalm 145:8). He’s not distant; He’s near. He’s not critical; He’s compassionate. He’s not irrelevant; He’s the source of all life and purpose.
The enemy loves to deceive us into believing otherwise, feeding us lies that God doesn’t care, that He’s hard to reach, or that He’s uninterested in our lives. But if you let those lies dictate your view of God, they’ll also dictate the direction of your life. Your faith will feel empty. Your joy will be drained. And you’ll live far below the purpose God has for you.
So, what’s the next step?
It’s time to correct your view of God. Open the Word and see who He really is. Look at Jesus, who shows us the Father’s heart. Align your life with the truth of God’s character, not the false narratives the world feeds you. When you truly see God for who He is, everything changes—your confidence, your hope, and your courage to step boldly into the life He’s called you to.
What’s the image of God that’s been guiding your life? Has it been true, or has it been a lie? Take a moment to reflect, and share your thoughts in the comments below. Let’s begin this journey of seeing God as He truly is—so we can live the lives we’re meant to live.
