The Biblical Mandate to Support Israel: Standing with God's Chosen Land
Why Turning Your Back on Israel Is a Rejection of God's Plan
Welcome, Warriors. This may be one of the most crucial messages you'll hear today. The debate around supporting Israel or Palestine has divided not only nations but also believers in Christ. However, let’s make one thing crystal clear: When it comes to God's Word, there is no gray area. You are either in support of God's promises and His chosen people, or you stand against His divine plan. Today, I want to talk about the undeniable, non-negotiable, and eternal importance of supporting Israel, not just as a political state, but as the sacred land ordained and set apart by God Himself.
Our Springboard for Today’s Discussion is Genesis 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
This verse is God's promise to Abraham, the forefather of the nation of Israel. And let me tell you, this promise still stands today. As Christians, we cannot afford to be ignorant of God's covenant, nor can we ignore the implications of standing against it. Failure to support Israel is not just a political stance—it’s a spiritual decision with eternal consequences.
God’s Chosen Land and People
In the Old Testament, God sets apart Israel as a special land, a divine gift to His chosen people. In Deuteronomy 7:6, He declares, “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” This is not just ancient history; this is God's eternal covenant. The land of Israel is holy ground, and to deny that is to deny God's Word and His purpose.
It’s important to understand that when we talk about "supporting Israel," we’re talking about more than just politics or international relations. We’re talking about aligning ourselves with God's eternal will. And God’s will is that Israel stands as a beacon to the world, a fulfillment of His promises.
The Danger of Not Supporting Israel
God does not mince words when it comes to those who curse Israel. In Numbers 24:9, it is written, “May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!” By siding against Israel, either actively or through silent indifference, you are inviting God's judgment upon yourself.
If you are a Christian and you stand with those who oppose Israel—whether by supporting Palestine or by ignoring the conflict—you are essentially standing against God's plan. Psalm 122:6 tells us, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you be secure.” If you are not praying for the peace and security of Israel, you are rejecting the command of God to support His people.
Spiritual Implications for Christians
As believers, we must understand that our support for Israel is not optional. It's not just "a good idea" or "the right thing to do." It is a command. God is deeply intertwined with the land of Israel. In Genesis 17:7-8, He promises to establish an everlasting covenant with Israel and to give them the land as an "everlasting possession." To reject or oppose Israel is to reject God's promises, His covenant, and His divine plan.
Let me be as clear as possible: if you do not support Israel, you are standing in opposition to God's will. And if you are in opposition to God's will, things will not go well for you. The Bible warns us repeatedly of the consequences of going against God's chosen land. Zechariah 2:8 declares, “For whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.” Friends, you do not want to be found guilty of poking God in the eye.
Supporting Israel is Supporting God’s Word
There is no middle ground here. You are either standing with Israel and therefore aligning yourself with God's Word, or you are opposing it. And by opposing Israel, you are inviting God's wrath, both in this life and potentially in the life to come. In Romans 11:18, Paul reminds us not to boast against the natural branches—Israel. They are the root that supports us, the very foundation upon which our faith is built. To oppose Israel is to cut yourself off from the root of God’s blessing.
Question of the Day: Are you willing to stand with Israel, even if it costs you in worldly popularity or comfort? Or are you choosing to align yourself with those who curse God's chosen land, knowingly bringing the curse upon yourself?
Growth Challenge: Warriors, I challenge you to actively pray for Israel every single day. Pray for its protection, for peace in Jerusalem, and for God's will to be fulfilled in the land He calls His own. Speak out boldly in defense of Israel and stand unapologetically on the truth of God's Word. Share the Scriptures, educate yourself, and don’t be afraid to voice your support for the land that God has eternally set apart.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, we come to You in humility and boldness. We thank You for Your promises and the everlasting covenant You have made with Israel. Lord, give us the courage to stand with Your chosen people and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Align our hearts with Your Word, and may we always choose to support Your will. Bless those who bless Israel, and may we be counted among those who stand on the side of Your truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Warriors, this is not a battle that can be fought with silence or inaction. Stand for God's land, support His people, and watch as His blessings flow over your life. Remember: to support Israel is to support God Himself. So let’s get to work, and may we always stand on the right side of history—God's side.
Great read, definitely had to share. I stand with Israel and will continue to pray for not only the peace of Jerusalem but the Salvation of those who are lost and need to open their hearts to Messiah, Jesus Christ🙏💙
Hey Matthew and Michelle, I love this post! Supporting Israel is about standing with God's promises, not just politics. You laid out the spiritual importance so clearly. Thanks for encouraging us to pray and take action!
