Navigating Life’s Crossroads: Finding God’s Wisdom in Tough Decisions
TODAY'S FOCUS IS: Learning to Seek God's Wisdom in Life’s Toughest Questions
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God . . . and it will be given him." —James 1:5
Which Path Do You Take?
Life is full of crossroads—decisions that shape our future.
Some choices are small. Others will alter the course of your life forever.
👉 Should I take that job?
👉 Should I marry this woman?
👉 How do I lead my family through this crisis?
👉 How do I fight this temptation?
👉 Am I becoming the man God wants me to be?
What if you get it wrong?
Fear creeps in. Doubt clouds your mind. The stakes feel too high.
So, what do you do?
The Danger of Going It Alone
Men love to figure things out on their own.
We pride ourselves on being self-sufficient. But the problem is:
🔥 Our instincts are flawed.
🔥 Our emotions deceive us (Jeremiah 17:9).
🔥 What "feels right" can actually lead to disaster (Proverbs 14:12).
God never intended us to make major decisions alone.
God’s Roadmap to Wisdom
King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, knew where to find wisdom.
How did he get it?
👉 He asked God. (1 Kings 3:9)
👉 He surrounded himself with godly counsel. (Proverbs 11:14)
👉 He recorded wisdom for us in Proverbs.
And here’s what he tells us:
✔️ Look to God first.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
✔️ Seek wise counsel.
"Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14)
✔️ Humble yourself and listen.
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice." (Proverbs 12:15)
Who’s Speaking Into Your Life?
Too many men walk alone and then wonder why they keep getting lost.
You need godly men in your corner—brothers who will:
✔️ Pray for you and with you.
✔️ Ask you the tough questions.
✔️ See what you might be missing.
✔️ Encourage you to follow God’s path, not your emotions.
What Do We Do?
1. Start With God
If you’re facing a major decision, don’t just think—pray.
James 1:5 promises that if you ask God for wisdom, He will give it.
Set aside time today. Be still. Ask God for clarity. Listen.
2. Gather Your Brothers
Find 2-5 godly men you trust. Be honest.
Ask them:
👉 What do you see that I might not?
👉 What does Scripture say about this?
👉 What questions should I be asking myself?
You’ll be surprised what God reveals through them.
3. Have the Courage to Obey
Once God makes the right path clear—walk it.
Even if it’s hard.
Even if it’s scary.
Even if it’s not what you originally wanted.
Because God’s wisdom always leads to life (Proverbs 19:20).
Challenge of the Week
✅ Identify one major decision you’re facing right now.
✅ Set aside 15 minutes to pray for wisdom.
✅ Reach out to two or three brothers and schedule a conversation this week.
✅ Commit to listening—and following where God leads.
Let’s Pray
Father,
We confess that too often, we try to figure things out on our own. We lean on our own understanding, instead of seeking Yours. Forgive us. Give us wisdom, Lord. Help us to see what we cannot. Surround us with godly men who will speak truth into our lives. And when You reveal the path, give us the courage to walk in obedience. We trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Brother, you don’t have to navigate life alone.
The wisdom you need is available—through God, through Scripture, and through the men He’s placed in your life.
Seek it. Listen to it. Follow it.
Let’s Get to Work!
