Dear Believers,
My name is Rebekah, and I am humbled to share my life story with you. As the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau, my life has been a journey filled with faith, love, and the unwavering guidance of the Lord. I hope that my experiences will inspire you to trust in God's plan and serve as a testament to His grace and mercy.
I was born in the city of Nahor, the daughter of Bethuel and the sister of Laban. My life took an unexpected turn when Abraham's servant, sent by God, arrived at the well where I was drawing water. He was on a divine mission to find a suitable wife for his master's son, Isaac. As I offered him water and also watered his camels, I unknowingly fulfilled the sign that the Lord had given him.
The servant shared the story of God's promise to Abraham and Isaac, and my family agreed to the marriage proposal. With faith in God's plan, I left my family and journeyed to Canaan, where I would meet my husband, Isaac. Upon meeting him, I felt an immediate connection, and together we built a strong and loving marriage, grounded in our faith in the Almighty.
Despite our deep love for one another, we struggled with infertility for many years. Through prayer and steadfast faith, we turned to the Lord for guidance and were eventually blessed with twin sons, Esau and Jacob. My pregnancy was difficult, and I sought the Lord's wisdom, receiving a prophecy that the older son would serve the younger. This divine revelation would shape the course of my life and the lives of my sons.
As my sons grew, I witnessed their differences and the tension that arose between them. Esau, the firstborn, was a skilled hunter and the favorite of his father, while Jacob, the younger, was more gentle and favored by me. I knew in my heart that Jacob was the one chosen by God to carry on the covenant, and I was determined to help fulfill the prophecy I had received.
When Isaac was old and his eyesight failing, he sought to bless Esau as the firstborn. However, I devised a plan for Jacob to receive the blessing instead. With my guidance, Jacob disguised himself as Esau and successfully received the blessing from his father. While my actions were driven by love and faith in God's plan, they also caused strife and division within our family.
My life has been a journey of faith, love, and difficult choices. Through it all, I have experienced God's grace, mercy, and unwavering guidance. I hope that my story will inspire you to trust in the Lord's plan for your life, even when it is challenging or requires personal sacrifice. It is through our faith in His divine will that we can find strength, hope, and redemption.
With humility and gratitude,
Rebekah
