My Name Is Nadab...
Nadab, son of Aaron, a reminder of the weight of glory and the cost of carelessness
Dear Faithful Ones,
I write to you as Nadab, the firstborn of Aaron, called to serve as a priest alongside my father and brothers in the wilderness at the foot of Sinai. My story, though brief, carries with it stark lessons on the sanctity of God's commandments and the grave consequences of disobedience. In sharing my account, I hope to impart a solemn reminder of the reverence and obedience our Lord rightfully commands.
From the moment of our consecration as priests, the gravity of our roles was clear. We were set apart, cleansed, and robed in sacred garments, anointed to serve before the Lord on behalf of the people. “Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bull for the sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread; and assemble all the congregation at the entrance of the tent of meeting” (Leviticus 8:2-3, ESV). It was a high calling, filled with both honor and immense responsibility, to approach the Holy of Holies, to offer sacrifices, and to intercede for the sins of our brethren.
