My Name Is Joash...
I am the King of Judah, a brother, and a fellow traveler on this spiritual journey we call life.
Dear Believers in the Eternal Covenant,
Peace be upon you, from the depths of my soul. I write to you today, not just as Joash, the King of Judah, but as a brother, a fellow traveler on this spiritual journey we call life. In hopes that my tale might inspire, caution, and bring you closer to our gracious God, I pen this letter.
The beginnings of my life were anything but ordinary. Born in 835 BC to a royal lineage, I was, by divine intervention, the only surviving heir of the Davidic line. My grandmother, Athaliah, driven by her thirst for power, sought to extinguish all her royal grandchildren. But the Lord had other plans. Hidden and protected within the sacred walls of His temple, under the guardianship of the high priest Jehoiada, I grew up with the echoes of the divine word and tales of our forefathers' steadfast faith.
