I am son of Beeri, born during the tumultuous reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the time of Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel.

To the remnants of Israel, the priesthood, the royalty, and all the nations who may glean wisdom from my journey,

I am Hosea, son of Beeri, born during the tumultuous reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the time of Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel. My life's narrative is perhaps among the strangest to serve as a prophetic metaphor, but such are the ways of the Lord, full of surprises and hidden meanings. "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord" (Isaiah 55:8).
