Dear Descendants of Faith,
I am Esau, firstborn of Isaac and Rebekah, twin brother to Jacob. Through this letter, I share the reflections and insights from the dawn of my life—a beginning intertwined with divine prophecies and familial strife that have shaped the legacy I impart to you today.
My entry into this world was marked by struggle, even from the womb. My mother, Rebekah, endured a pregnancy so tumultuous with the movements of my brother and me that she sought understanding from the Lord. "The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, 'Why is this happening to me?' So she went to inquire of the Lord" (Genesis 25:22, NIV). The Lord’s response was a prophecy that set the course for both our lives: "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger" (Genesis 25:23, NIV).
