Dear Reader,
My name is Elijah, a prophet of the Lord from the town of Tishbe in Gilead. During my lifetime, I bore witness to divine miracles and relayed God's messages to kings, all while living in a time of rampant idolatry. This letter is not an attempt to glorify myself, but rather to underscore the unwavering faithfulness of God and His power to guide us through the darkest valleys of life.
As a servant of the Lord, I was thrust into the center of Israel's spiritual battle during the reign of the infamous King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel. Ahab had turned away from the Lord, leading the people of Israel down the path of Baal worship. This disregard for God's law prompted my first prophetic proclamation – a warning of a severe drought that would ravage the land, which indeed came to pass.
