Dear Believers,
My name is Elah, the son of Baasha and the fourth king of Israel. My story, as recounted in 1 Kings 16:6-14, is one that underscores the tragic consequences of leading a life that strays from the path of righteousness.
In the 26th year of King Asa of Judah's reign, I ascended to the throne, succeeding my father, Baasha. I ruled over the divided kingdom of Israel from Tirzah for a mere two years. My brief reign was filled with indulgence and negligence towards the spiritual health of my kingdom. I, too, like my father and the kings before me, led my people astray, perpetuating the worship of idols and ignoring the covenant our forefathers had with the Almighty.
