My Name Is Abijam...

I am the third king of Judah

Dear Believers,

I am Abijam (or Abijah in Chronicles), the son of Rehoboam and the third king of Judah. My story is recounted briefly in 1 Kings 15:1-8 and in more detail in 2 Chronicles 13.

I reigned for only three years, following the death of my father. Although my father's reign was marked by rebellion and division, my short reign was filled with continuous warfare with Jeroboam I of the northern kingdom of Israel.
