Dear Faithful,
I am Abihu, son of Aaron, entrusted alongside my brother Nadab with the sacred duties of priesthood under the covenant of our God. My story is brief but profound, marked by the solemn weight of consecration and the tragic consequence of our departure from divine command.
From the moment of our anointing, the presence of God enveloped our lives. We were ordained in a ceremony of great significance, prepared by Moses as commanded by the Lord. Dressed in holy garments, anointed with oil, and surrounded by the congregation of Israel, we felt the immense responsibility placed upon our shoulders. "And Moses said to the congregation, 'This is the thing that the Lord has commanded to be done'" (Leviticus 8:5, ESV). We were set apart to approach God on behalf of His people, to offer the sacrifices that atoned for their sins, and to mediate the holy relationship between God and Israel.
