The city of Galilee came into view just as the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting the sky in streaks of crimson and gold. The journey had been long, and though I was no stranger to the rigors of travel, I felt the weight of the past weeks pressing down on me. The cold wind bit at my skin, but my mind remained sharp, locked on the task ahead.
Beside me, Jonah rode with an eagerness that had been growing with each passing mile. He was nearly bouncing in his saddle, his sharp eyes darting toward the city gates like a hound catching the scent of a long-lost trail.
