Living Out Loud: Which Type of Faith-Filled Man Are You?
A Call to Move Beyond Intellectual Belief to a Life Marked by Genuine Trust and Bold Action
Which Type of Man Are You?
“. . . my God, in whom I trust—” Psalm 91:2.
Gentlemen, let’s cut to the chase. There are essentially two types of Christian men out there. The first is the man who hears Jesus’s teachings and nods his head. Yes, he believes—intellectually. He loves a well-delivered sermon, enjoys the intellectual gymnastics of theological debate, and probably has a shelf full of Christian books. But step outside the church, and his life looks pretty much like anyone else's. No risks, no faith-driven decisions, just a spiritual status quo. This guy lives like “a shrub in the desert” (Jeremiah 17:6)—barely surviving spiritually, with no depth to his roots.
Then there’s the other guy—the man who not only believes what Jesus says but lets that truth sink deep into his bones and change everything. His trust in Jesus isn’t just theoretical; it’s the most real thing about him. His life looks radically different because his faith is active and alive. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream . . .” (Jeremiah 17:7-8). This man is thriving, not just surviving. His life is marked by spiritual strength, health, and fruitfulness because he’s planted firmly in his faith.
So here’s the million-dollar question: Which type of man are you? What’s different about your life because of your trust in Jesus? What are you doing that you would never do if it weren’t for your faith? If your answer is “nothing” or “not much,” then, brother, it’s time for a wake-up call. It’s time to do something—anything—that demonstrates real trust. Don’t overthink it. Keep it simple. Use the two greatest commandments as your playbook (Matthew 22:37-39), and take a step of faith... today.
Let’s not be content with being mere hearers of the word. Let’s be doers. Let’s be men of valor who live out our trust in God boldly and visibly. It’s time to show the world what it looks like when a man truly trusts in Jesus.
Let’s Get To Work…
