Warriors, listen up. Jesus Christ didn’t call you to a life of safety. He didn’t call you to comfort. He called you to follow Him—and that means stepping into a life of risk, uncertainty, and danger. “Follow me” isn’t just a polite invitation—it’s a command, repeated over fifteen times in the Gospels. But here’s the thing: following Him flies in the face of today’s culture that values safety and security above all else.
Jesus doesn’t promise safety. The life He calls us to is anything but secure. Look at the Apostle Paul—he lived that life of danger and boldness:
“Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea... danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure” (2 Corinthians 11:24-27).
Paul wasn’t designed for safety, and neither are you. God didn’t give us a spirit of fear. He designed us for powerful, dangerous lives—because His Spirit within us isn’t timid or weak. It’s one of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
So, what’s your next move?
Here’s what you need to do right now:
Take 2 Timothy 1:7 and make it personal:
". . . for God gave [ you ] a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
Now, fast-forward to the end of your life. What do you want to be remembered for? Imagine your friends and family saying, “He was fearless. He walked in power, love, and self-control.” What are you going to do right now to make sure that’s true?
You don’t have time to wait. Your days are numbered (Psalm 90:12). Commit, brother, to make one bold change this week. Step into the dangerous life God has called you to.

Your brother in Christ,
