Delilah and Goliath. Icons from different tales, but both sprouting from the same lineage - the Philistines. As a young Israelite farmer, I grew up hearing tales of our longstanding enmity. The reasons? Too vast to list but inextricably linked to the advancements the Philistines achieved in metallurgy.
Their mastery of iron made them a force to reckon with. My fellow Israelites, bound by hefty levies, farmed using wooden tools. Metal-tipped tools bore costs we often couldn't afford. And so, when whispers of my bravery reached the Israelite army's ears, my life took an unexpected turn.
