To all who are seeking the truth about Jesus,
I know what it is to sit in darkness. I know what it means to feel the silence of death… and then hear the voice of God call your name.
My name is Lazarus. Yes, that Lazarus—the one Jesus raised from the dead. But before He called me out of my tomb, I had walked with Him. I had watched Him. I had witnessed signs that would shake the world—each one not just a miracle, but a message.
These signs were more than wonders. They were declarations that the Kingdom of God had come near, and that Jesus was not just a good man or a great teacher—He was the Son of God, the Word made flesh, the One who has authority over all.
John, our beloved brother, recorded seven of these signs—seven acts that reveal who Jesus truly is. I saw some with my eyes. Others, I heard from those who could barely believe what they had witnessed. All of them? They changed the course of human history.
1. Water into Wine at Cana
He didn’t just save a wedding—He transformed ordinary water into something rich, something better. It was more than a miracle. It was a statement: The old ways are passing. The new has come. This wasn’t about wine—it was about joy, about celebration, about the arrival of the Messiah.
2. Healing the Official’s Son
Jesus didn’t need to be near to heal. With just a word—spoken from a distance—He restored a dying child. That day, we learned that faith isn't about what you see, but Who you believe. And that Jesus is not limited by proximity or power. His word reaches farther than we can imagine.
3. Healing the Man at the Pool of Bethesda
Thirty-eight years. That man had waited nearly four decades. Jesus asked him one question: “Do you want to be healed?” And then, on the Sabbath—He healed him. He was challenging more than sickness—He was challenging the system. Because He is Lord of the Sabbath.
4. Feeding the Five Thousand
I was there that day. Five loaves, two fish, and a hungry crowd on a hillside. And yet, everyone ate—and more was left over. Jesus wasn’t just filling stomachs. He was revealing that He is the Bread of Life. True nourishment. Eternal satisfaction.
5. Walking on Water
That night on the Sea of Galilee—He came to them in the storm. Walking. On. Water. The wind and waves obeyed Him. Who does that? Only the One who created the waters. In that moment, we saw that Jesus rules even over chaos.
6. Healing the Man Born Blind
No one had ever heard of such a thing—a man born blind receiving sight. And yet, Jesus did it. And not just with a word, but with mud and spit and obedience. “Go wash in the Pool of Siloam,” He said. And when the man did, his world lit up for the first time. The religious leaders were furious, but the truth stood clear: Jesus gives sight—not just to eyes, but to souls.
7. The Raising of Lazarus
And then—there was me.
I had fallen sick. My sisters, Mary and Martha, had sent word to Jesus. We expected Him to come quickly. But He delayed. And I died. Four days passed. They buried me. They mourned. Hope was buried with me.
But Jesus came—not late, but right on time. He wept at my tomb, yes, but then He prayed. And then He shouted. “Lazarus, come out!”
And I did.
I cannot explain how breath entered my lungs again or how my heart began to beat. All I know is that His voice carried authority greater than death. When He spoke, death let go. And I walked out of that tomb—alive.
That moment wasn’t just about me. It was a sign to all who saw, and all who would hear: Jesus Christ has power over death. He is the Resurrection and the Life.
Each of these signs reveals a piece of the whole:
Jesus transforms.
Jesus restores.
Jesus nourishes.
Jesus reigns.
Jesus gives light.
Jesus conquers death.
These miracles weren’t random. They were intentional. They were road signs—each one pointing to the truth: Jesus is the Son of God, and in Him is life.
I was dead. I am alive. And I will spend every remaining breath I have declaring that Jesus is exactly who He said He is: the Christ, the Son of the Living God, the Master over all.
If you're standing at the edge of faith—wondering if He really sees you, if He really has power over your situation—remember this:
I was four days gone… and He still called me by name.
He will call yours too.
Just listen.
With eternal gratitude,
Lazarus
Closing Thought:
The signs of Jesus reveal His divine nature, His boundless power, and His tender love. Each one whispers the same truth: God is here, and He still calls the dead to life.
