“A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
Proverbs 15:1 (ESV)
My beloved,
I see the moments when tension rises around you.
I see how quickly words sharpen. How tones shift. How the pull to respond in kind feels almost automatic. You are not imagining that pressure. It is real.
But listen to Me here.
You do not have to match intensity to maintain strength.
When voices rise, you are tempted to rise with them. When emotions escalate, you feel the urge to defend, correct, or assert yourself quickly. But wisdom is not found in volume or force. It is found in restraint.
I am not asking you to ignore what is wrong.
I am asking you to refuse to let anger lead.
Escalation feels powerful in the moment, but it often leaves wounds behind. It turns conversations into contests and relationships into battlegrounds. What began as a small issue becomes something far heavier than it needed to be.
I did not design you to react.
I designed you to lead.
Leadership looks like staying steady when others are stirred. It looks like lowering the temperature when others are heating the room. It looks like trusting Me enough to let peace speak louder than pride.
You worry that if you do not push back, you will be overlooked or dismissed. But restraint does not diminish your authority. It reveals it.
When you choose calm over conflict, you make space for truth to be heard. When you refuse to escalate, you protect your heart and your witness. When you trust Me to handle what you cannot control, you stay aligned with Me.
I am with you in those tense moments.
I am near when you pause instead of react.
I am working even when you choose silence over sharpness.
You do not lose by staying gentle.
You do not fail by choosing peace.
You do not become weak by refusing to escalate.
Rest today. Let Me carry what you are tempted to fight. I will give you wisdom in the moment you need it and peace that does not depend on winning the exchange.
Stay close to Me.
Stay steady.
Stay gentle.
Always,
Your Heavenly Father…
