Gratitude isn’t just about saying “thank you” for the blessings we can see. It’s also about recognizing the divine whispers that guided us when we didn’t know what to do. Think about those moments—a Scripture that struck deep, a person’s words that landed right when you needed them, or even a season of pain that eventually revealed God’s quiet direction. Today, we take a pause to say, “Thank You, Lord, for speaking—even when I wasn’t always listening.”
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." —1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
God speaks in countless ways, and every time He does, it’s an act of grace. Maybe His Word jumped off the page at the exact right moment. Maybe a friend unknowingly delivered a message from heaven. Or maybe, in a season of heartbreak, God didn’t change the situation—but He changed you through it.
Those whispers are sacred. They don’t always come with clarity or comfort, but they come with purpose. And when we train our hearts to give thanks, even in uncertainty, we begin to treasure His voice more deeply.
Today, try journaling a few of those moments—where God spoke, nudged, or comforted you. Let gratitude flood those memories. The more we give thanks for His voice, the more attuned we become to hearing it.
Question of the Day:
What’s one moment—big or small—when you knew God was speaking? Have you thanked Him for it?
Let’s Pray:
Lord, thank You for every whisper, every word, every quiet moment of guidance. Open my heart to remember and give thanks, even when Your voice is soft. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
