Today, we’re talking about something every believer faces: doors—some wide open, some firmly shut. Ever wonder why a door you were hoping for remains closed while another swings open unexpectedly? That’s where God’s guidance comes in.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is: Revelation 3:8—"I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut."
God is always leading us, but the challenge is learning to recognize when He’s opening a door and when He’s closing one for our good. Sometimes, we’re so focused on a locked door that we miss the one He’s already swung wide open. The key is discernment. Not every opportunity is from Him, and not every rejection is the enemy trying to stop us—it might just be divine protection.
So, how do we know the difference? First, alignment with God’s Word—God will never open a door that contradicts Scripture. Second, peace—God’s doors bring peace, not confusion or fear. Third, confirmation—He often affirms His direction through wise counsel and circumstances.
Maybe you’re standing before a door right now, unsure whether to step through. Trust His timing. If He’s placed the opportunity before you, no one can take it away. And if He’s closed a door, it’s because He has something better ahead.
