Pain is one of the enemy’s most effective tools. When we’re in the middle of suffering—whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual—the enemy whispers lies to make us believe that God has abandoned us. He plants doubt, fear, and discouragement, hoping to steal our faith, kill our hope, and destroy our trust in God’s goodness. But Jesus made it clear: His purpose is the opposite. He came to bring life, and not just life, but abundant life—even in the midst of suffering.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is: John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
The enemy’s voice says: “If God really loved you, He wouldn’t let this happen.”
God’s truth declares: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
The enemy’s voice says: “This pain proves God doesn’t care.”
God’s truth declares: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
The enemy’s voice says: “You’re alone in this.”
God’s truth declares: “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
Suffering is not a sign that God has left you; it’s an opportunity to draw closer to Him. When Jesus suffered on the cross, He wasn’t abandoned—He was fulfilling God’s greatest plan for redemption. And through our suffering, God can refine us, strengthen our faith, and bring us into deeper communion with Him.
When the enemy tries to use your pain against you, fight back with the truth of God’s Word. Open your Bible, speak His promises, and pray with persistence. His truth is your weapon, and His presence is your comfort.
Question of the Day: What lie has the enemy tried to make you believe in your suffering, and how has God’s truth countered it?
Let’s Pray: Lord, use this pain, help me to recognize the enemy’s lies and hold fast to Your truth. Remind me that You are near, that You love me, and that You are working all things for my good. Strengthen my faith, even when I don’t understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
