Today, we're diving into a truth that often gets overlooked in our individualistic culture: we were never meant to walk this faith journey alone. We need godly friendships—people who encourage us, challenge us, and stand beside us when trials come.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10—“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”
God designed us for relationships. True Christian friendships go beyond casual conversation; they are a source of strength, correction, and encouragement. In a world that pulls us in every direction, having someone to help us stay aligned with God’s Word is invaluable. Accountability is not about judgment—it's about love. A true friend speaks truth even when it’s uncomfortable because they care about your soul. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” When we walk together in faith, we become stronger, more resilient, and better equipped for the battles ahead.
If you want to grow spiritually, surround yourself with friends who push you toward Christ. Are your friendships helping you stay on track, or are they pulling you away from God?
Let’s Pray: Lord, thank You for the gift of godly friendships. Help us to build relationships that encourage, challenge, and uplift. Give us the wisdom to seek accountability and the courage to be honest with those You’ve placed in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
