Scripture: "Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the LORD : . . . 'With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed.'" EXODUS 15:1, 13
When we think of hearing from God, what tone do we expect? Is it authoritative? Demanding? Or perhaps, is it something more tender, more personal, a gentle nudge towards righteousness?
Point 1: God's Gentle Nature.
God isn't a taskmaster with a whip, ready to pounce the moment we err. Instead, He's the epitome of a loving leader. He woos us, counsels us, and guides us. His voice is more like the gentle embrace of a caring parent than a stern headmaster.
Point 2: Alignment, Not Enforcement.
Our Heavenly Father knows our hearts, our desires, and our wishes. More often than not, He aligns His plans with our desires, ensuring we are in accord with His path. This doesn't mean He bends to our will, but He works miraculously, melding our heart's desires with His divine plan.
Point 3: The Optimism of God's Voice.
God's voice uplifts and encourages. It's not a voice that drowns us in sorrow or pessimism. Even during the harshest storms, when He speaks, there's a resonance of hope, a glimmer of a better tomorrow, and the assurance that He is by our side, leading the way.
