23-194 Recognizing God's Message: His Voice in Human Words

1 Thessalonians 2:13
1

We never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God —which, of course, it is. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

Welcome to another episode of "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast". Today, we will discuss the scripture from 1 Thessalonians 2:13 “We never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God  —which, of course, it is.” And understand how God's messages can often be heard through human words.

Apostle Paul, along with Silas and Timothy, knew that their words weren't entirely their own. While they used their own style and speech patterns, they were aware that the core message they conveyed was from God. Surprisingly, the listeners in Thessalonica were able to recognize that.

Point 1: Divine Origin in Human Words:

In today's world, many of us find it hard to recognize the divine origin behind human words due to our sophisticated and skeptical mindset. But can we accept that a message consistent with God's Word might actually be His very words?

Point 2: Discernment vs Skepticism:

Discernment is vital, but when it turns into blanket skepticism, we run the risk of missing God's messages. While it's incorrect to idealize people as perfect, it's equally wrong to assume that the words of those filled with the Holy Spirit are merely human words.

Point 3: Hearing God's Voice in Ourselves and Others:

We often view ourselves as God's hands and feet in this world, but it's crucial to recognize that we can also be His voice. This voice must always align with His previously revealed truth. When it does, we can trust that we are hearing the very words of God.

In conclusion, God's messages can come to us through human vessels, people filled with the Holy Spirit who convey His words. As listeners, it's important to discern wisely and recognize the divine origin in these messages, rather than dismissing them outright.

Let's pray: "God of truth, You have a way of expressing Yourself through flawed human beings. You fill us with Your Spirit and use us to communicate Your messages. Help me to see Your mind and heart in everyone who speaks Your truth."

Thank you for joining us on "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast". I encourage you to stay open to hearing God's voice in human words, trusting His power to communicate through us. Until next time, keep your hearts and minds receptive to His whisper, no matter the vessel it comes through.
