Have you ever had a moment where you heard God speak to you? Maybe it was a subtle whisper in your ear or a feeling deep in your heart. Perhaps it was a Bible verse that seemed to jump out at you in a time of need. Whatever the form, we can be sure that God desires to communicate with us and guide us in our lives.
In Jeremiah 29:12-13, God promises that when we pray and seek Him with our whole heart, He will listen and we will find Him. This promise is not just for Charles Finney or other notable Christians throughout history; it is for each and every one of us. God desires to speak to us and lead us into a life of purpose and fulfillment.
But how can we hear God's voice amidst the noise and distractions of our daily lives? Here are three questions to consider:
Are you actively seeking God? God promises that if we seek Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him. Are we making an effort to seek Him in our daily lives? This might involve setting aside time for prayer and Bible study or simply being open and receptive to His leading throughout the day.
Are you listening for God's voice? God speaks to us in a variety of ways, but we need to be attentive and receptive to His leading. This might involve quieting our minds and hearts in prayer, or being mindful of the people and circumstances around us that God might be using to speak to us.
Are you willing to follow God's leading? When we hear God's voice, we need to be willing to follow His leading, even if it doesn't always make sense or align with our plans. This might involve stepping out in faith, and trusting that God will guide us and provide for us along the way.
So what is our call to action? Let us make a commitment to actively seek God, to listen for His voice, and to be willing to follow His leading in our lives. Let us trust that God desires to speak to us and guide us and that He will be faithful to fulfill His promises to us. And let us always remember that when we seek God wholeheartedly, we will find Him.
Let’s Pray…Lord, may my heart follow the burdens, the convictions, the joys, the freedoms, and the insights You give me —in full confidence that You are speaking to me.
