Welcome to the Power of God’s Whisper podcast. Today, we’re diving into the topic of spiritual understanding.
From an early age, we learn how to acquire knowledge through external sources, such as our parents, teachers, and life experiences. But when it comes to matters of the Spirit, learning is a different process. It involves receiving revelation and discerning truth, rather than analyzing and deducting.
As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 2:14, “Only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.” This means that spiritual understanding is not something that can be acquired through intellectual exercises alone. It requires an openness to the leading of the Holy Spirit and a willingness to receive revelation from God.
So how do we develop this kind of spiritual understanding? It starts with prayer and a willingness to listen to God’s voice. The Holy Spirit speaks to us in ways that may not make sense to our human minds, but if we are open and receptive, we can begin to discern the truth that He reveals to us.
The Apostle Paul understood the importance of spiritual understanding. In his ministry, he didn’t rely on persuasive words of human wisdom but on the demonstration of the Spirit’s power. He knew that God’s ways are above human logic and that true understanding comes from the Spirit.
If we want to grow in spiritual understanding, we need to be willing to let go of our own understanding and trust in God’s wisdom. This means surrendering our own thoughts and ideas to Him and asking Him to reveal His truth to us.
There is no step-by-step process for developing spiritual understanding, but we can trust that if we seek the Holy Spirit, He will teach us. As we depend on Him and listen for His voice, we will begin to understand the deep mysteries of God that are revealed to us through His Spirit.
So let us pray today for the Holy Spirit to give us the spiritual understanding we need to follow God’s will for our lives. Let us trust in His wisdom and surrender our own understanding to Him, knowing that He will reveal His truth to us in His own time and in His own way.
