Welcome to the Power of God's Whisper podcast, where we explore the wonders of hearing God's voice and discerning His will. I'm your host, Matthew Adams, and today's episode is all about listening carefully to what God is saying.
Psalm 85:8 tells us to listen carefully to what God is saying, for He speaks peace to His faithful people. When we approach God with faith and expectancy, we create a fertile ground for Him to sow His seeds of wisdom and guidance. And while His answers may not always come immediately or in the ways we expect, they almost always come eventually. God responds to those who long for His words.
One powerful way to hear God's voice is to ask Him a question and then watch for a living parable to play out in front of our eyes. Throughout Scripture, we see examples of people who "looked to see" what God would say, knowing that His preferred language seems to be pictures. Prophets like Jeremiah and Ezekiel learned deep spiritual lessons from the visual images that God gave them.
When we ask God a question, we should be open to the possibility that He may respond with a metaphor or parable in real life. Perhaps a relationship dynamic or turn of events will give us a glimpse into God's heart and address our concerns. And the Spirit has a remarkable ability to steer our attention to divine illustrations. He knows how to dramatize His truth.
So, how can we listen to God in this way? First, we must open our eyes and expect Him to share His heart with us. We must be willing to look for the living parables that He presents to us in our everyday lives. And most importantly, we must have faith that God wants to speak to us and that He loves to speak to His people.
Friends, let us listen carefully to what God is saying. Let us create a fertile ground for His wisdom and guidance, and let us expect Him to speak to us in the living parables of our lives.
