Hey there Warriors...Today we will reflect on the powerful words of Psalm 19:7-8: "The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living."
As Christians, we know that the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is through the Bible that we can hear God's voice and learn about His nature and His will for our lives. The Bible provides us with guidance, encouragement, and correction. It revives our souls, makes us wise, brings joy to our hearts, and gives us insight for living.
But we must also be aware that simply reading and knowing the Bible does not equate to having a relationship with God. We can memorize entire sections of scripture and still miss the God who inspired it. The religious scholars of Jesus' day were experts on scripture, but they failed to recognize the Messiah when He stood right in front of them.
We must not confuse mental knowledge with spiritual knowledge. We must strive to be inspired when we read and hear the Bible, not simply know that the Word was inspired when it was written. The Bible is a living breath, and we must inhale it deeply.
Without the Holy Spirit, the Bible is useless to us. We cannot fully understand its meaning and significance without the guidance of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit works within us, helping us to understand the Word of God and apply it to our lives.
Therefore, let us not only read the Bible but let us also pray for the Holy Spirit to fill us and guide us. Let us ask for spiritual insight and understanding as we study God's Word. Let us strive to have a deep and personal relationship with God, not just a knowledge of His Word.
May the Holy Spirit inspire us as we read and meditate on the Word of God. May He help us to understand and apply it to our lives, so that we may grow in our faith and become more like Christ. Amen.
